The article is devoted to the formulation of a concept for the study of various forms of self destructive and pseudo-religiosity, the basic idea of which is that their source is the unconscious aspects of the personality involved in the formation of typological features of the person, in particular, unconscious guilt, anxiety, fear and defense mechanisms. The article defines the concept of spirituality and religion in psychological terms, the possibility of their reflection and research within the norm and pathology. Based on the author's interpretation of the concept of spirituality, religiosity, personal religiosity and destructive religious study suggests ways of formation of destructive forms of individual religiousness.
